Make Time for You!

If you are looking to build confidence, be courageous, and reframe your reality, you are in the right place. It is time to recognize the power you have within yourself to make great changes in your life. Sometimes you may feel hopeless about your future or stuck in your daily routine, which can make it a struggle to prioritize yourself. The only way to overcome these challenges is by making time for you.

For some, the concept of making time for yourself seems out of reach yet for others, it is easy to accomplish. The truth is, if you do not prioritize yourself, it will never happen because challenging situations will always get in your way.  Take a moment to check in with yourself no matter what side of the spectrum you feel you stand. Start processing what you are feeling about your current life or status.

It Matters How You Feel

Overwhelmed? Stressed out? Frustrated? Tired? Unmotivated? Making time for you starts with acknowledging and understanding these feelings and what your current state is so that you can actually get to the place you want to be. Now that you have had some *time* to process and generate feelings, let’s explore ways to realistically make time for you and learn the benefits that come from doing so.

One obstacle that can get in the way of making time for yourself is simply not knowing how to start. If you feel like you do not know where to begin or what would even help you, that is okay! It is easy to get caught up in your daily routine and end up pushing yourself to the back burner. However, if you want to be successful, happy, and healthy, you have to put yourself first. No ifs, ands, or buts!

Prioritizing Time for You

You may feel like you have a million things to do every day and not enough time to do them. So, take small steps by making time for yourself each day - even if it is just 5-15 minutes. Then, gradually increase that time as you start to feel better about adding "you time” to your schedule. Remember, this is about you and your happiness, so make sure to do what makes you feel good.  Most importantly, be patient with yourself. This is a journey, not a race.  It is so worth it to finally put yourself first. You deserve it!

That means taking time for you every day - whether it is getting in a workout, reading your favorite book, sitting outside, or taking a relaxing bath. It is so important to nurture yourself and fill your cup first, so that you can be the best version of yourself for others.

How can you nurture yourself? There are many ways:

  • Honor your body and mind – fuel with efficiency, exercise, sleep, and good nutrition

  • Show yourself gratitude

  • Live by your values

  • Do things with integrity

  • Be courageous & take a leap of faith, even into the unknown

  • Make space for tears and forgiveness, then let it go

  • Maximize your goals through time management

  • Dedicate energy where things can grow

  • Ensure habits are healthy and sustainable
